Ms. Kirk's Classroom Expectations
1. Be respectful.
This means to all students, teachers, materials, and the music itself.
2. Be prepared.
This means having your instrument, music, and a pencil every day. It also means being on time to class (or having a pass if
you are late.)
3. Raise your hand.
The band and choir classes have a large number of students, which means that everyone needs to raise their hand
respectfully to share something or ask a question.
4. No gum or food.
It is impossible to sing or play your instrument to your best potential if you have food or gum in your mouth. This is also a
very dangerous choking hazard! Not to mention that it will make your instrument smell funny. You may have water.
5. Do your best!
Band and choir are both ensembles, which means that they are like a team. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
Everyone needs to try their hardest every day in order to make the group sound as good as possible.
